BROOKLYN'S STORY

I met Br​ooklyn when she was in the second grade. She repeated kindergarten and second grade due to her extreme difficulty in reading. After a variety of testing,  to everyone's surprise, Brooklyn met the criteria to be determined a gifted student. 

Brooklyn showed characteristics of a child with a language-based learning disability, known as dyslexia.  These students often have average and above average intelligence, but struggle immensely with reading words, spelling and writing.  They are an extraordinary group of students.
